Peek-A-Boo!
Yup, boys and girls, it’s that time of the year again… With less than a week to go till Eurotrip 3.0 (code named “meet the Vikings” this year), your dearly beloved blogger is busy making lists upon lists, shopping for fur-lined bathing suits and implements of ice fishing (or whatever it is one shops for before a northern holiday), and generally bouncing off the walls with impatience. So yeah, there’ll be silence in the ranks around here for a couple of weeks (maybe three, depending on the amount of sheer laziness piled up by the time I return). In the meantime, though…
…playing peek-a-boo with the gargoyles on Notre-Dame de Paris.
So assuming I don’t fall off a ferry or some excellent, flaxen haired, cello wielding specimen drinks me under the table, I’ll be back in a few weeks. Skål!
P.S. I was supposed to do this last week, but obviously I forgot. So cheers and kudos to the lovely lady in the leather jacket a.k.a Geo, for figuring out why my bikes are traditionally called Freddie. Hoorah!

Rise and shine II
Well, I’m back… In the country and in town. And not that I wouldn’t appreciate our average scalding summer just as much the next guy, but I was pretty quick to run to the hills (literally and figuratively) this past weekend and go hiking, tenting, and getting sunburnt to a crisp, through the Parang mountains. This may just be my heat-induced rotten streak, but there’s nothing quite like enjoying a cool alpine breeze while knowing the rest of the poor bastards, a.k.a beloved friends and family, are roasting in the asphalt jungle. Bonus points if you can do so while gnawing on gummi bears at over 2500 m altitude.
Returning to our little photographic endeavors, there’s still plenty of photos to share from the land of baguettes and snooty people with weird accents, but I thought I’d celebrate my coming home with a more local shot. So here’s pretty much what I saw this Monday morning, crawling out of my tent at 7AM…
In other (sadder) news, after a long and fruitful service above and beyond the call of duty, I have finally decided to retire my (now former) hiking shoes. They shall be missed. Hopefully, though, they’ll go out with a smile…
