Hello, boys and girls! Color me surprised, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth… I won’t bore you with how I’ve been trying to maintain the home-sweet-home tradition of painting Easter eggs, while living in a country where major Christian holidays get about as much hype as your average Tuesday (well fine, maybe just a bit… hilarity and beet juice stains ensued)… Or how I flew back home for the traditional spring break in Vama (particularly demented this year) and got the extra perk of motherly culinary pampering, being the returning prodigal daughter and all that… Or how I got back to France and was pretty much a lazy bum for a couple of weeks, waiting to finally get around to seeing Paris. Which I did… eventually. Damn thing took me surprisingly long, seeing as I’ve been here for over three months.

That pretty much sums up all that stuff I’ve graciously decided not to bore you people with, so without further ado, I give you this week’s (long overdue) photo-of-the-week:

Alright, so it’s not exactly the dock of the bay, but the French really do seem to have the sitting part thoroughly covered. Anywhere. Any time of day. Takin’ their sweet time… Gotta love latin peoples. Cheers!

…like a tiny Asian chick with a rejected conference submission. I swear to the almighty, no other woman scorned has a thing on this one.

Anyways, moving along past observations of university wildlife to a more Zen mood, d’you know that awesome ukulele version of “Over The Rainbow”, by the Hawaiian dude with an unpronounceable name? No? Look it up, best antidepressant ever… Or… Yes, I know it’s a “medley actually”, ya freakin’ accuracy Nazi!… As the case may be. Either way, that’s the kind of song that was ringing in my head on the fine, fine singing-birds-buzzing-bees sort of Saturday afternoon when I took today’s photo-of-the-week. And then I decided to fire up Photoshop and mess it up, because it was just too damn cheerful…

In other, unrelated news, I had a brief moment of royally-pissed-ness on my way to school this morning. It was then that I decided that next time I see a rollerblader thinking that just because he’s endowed with some pathetic excuse for a set of wheels he is defined as a vehicle and therefore entitled to walk (yes, *walk*, go away) through the middle of the street, so help me I will run him down and shove a spark plug up his bum. Or bike spoke… One can never get too creative… Cheers!

Returning to our regularly scheduled program, today’s photo-of-the-week is in the shape and size of another fine feathered friend of mine, found in Annecy, this time…

But that’s another story…

Returning to our regularly scheduled program, I met my fine feathered friend here in the Parc de la Tête d’Or…

…or as I like to call it, park of “Look out, there’s a jogger running you over!”. I kid, I kid, lovely park and all that, and I’m sure there’ll be more photos of it once the rose garden is in bloom. I hear it’s a thing of beauty.

Till next time, ta-ta, au revoir, and whatnot…

Printer ink all ’round!

Later edit:

Dear readers,
It has been brought to my attention that things could be much, much worse bureaucracy-wise, and that I shouldn’t be this vocal in my complaints. With that in mind, and having, in the meantime, met a very nice office person lady who practically did half of my paperwork for me, I feel obliged to tone down my belly-aching. Now, if I’d only be offered a lollipop when submitting my complete paperwork, I would wholeheartedly retract it entirely. Until further notice, I guess things just aren’t *that* bad.
End transmission.

…Which is a pretty good description of my state of mind at the moment, seeing how your dearly beloved blogger is nursing a royal hangover right now. Screwdriver flavored, if I remember correctly, and yes, the epic get-together was way worth it…

Anyways, in completely unrelated news, it’s bragging time yet again, as ‘The World According To My Camera’ (or more precisely, my Flickr upload of ‘Rise and Shine’) has made it to the final selection for the ‘In The Shadows’ challenge on The Photo Argus. Yay! By the way, a big thank you to everyone’s favorite pink shirted dude, for the good news. Couple that with the fact that my plucky little bike has been miraculously resurrected in what seems like a better condition than it was even when brand new (again, thanks where thanks are due), and I suppose I can say it’s been a pretty good week.

Moving on, today’s photo-of-the-week is a bit of eye candy from Split, Croatia (which is stunningly beautiful, by the way, especially at night, strolling along the coast)…

Now if you’ll excuse me, I think I’ll go take a brief nap for a couple of days or so. Cherry-oh!

This was taken in Dubrovnik, by the way. Lovely town, had it not been so chock full of what we devilishly enjoyed calling “f***ing tourists!”. Which incidentally also became the motto of Eurotrip 2.0.

In other news, on the what-else-has-fallen-off-my-bike-lately front, I’m deeply sorry to announce that darling “Freddie” (yes, as in Mercury, no, as in I did not ride it naked) is officially dead. May it rest in both peace, and pieces…
